It would be more intelligent, when at the end of useful life of the green cells (pack), replace only the cells and keep the electronic board which is probably the most expensive part and have a lot technology in it.I came across the video from a link from Google, genuinely interested in what u done ( thanks for teaching something new today :) ) mikita batteries are VERY expensive back here in england, dismantling them for cells has got me confused and would like to educate myself why.?IMO, this is a cheap way to get around the charge issue, but long term, it is probably not sustainable. sky Bridge Concept I just saw this video nice job, I have 5 Makita batteries that don't work is there anyone that rebuilds these batteries I hate to toss them all out? i would be great to have these batteries working Dorian Harvey It is complicated to test dud cells.
Personally id have just fixed the dead cells and sold these batterys on for a nice profit.
Then you could buy some brand new 18650 off ali express for your ebike.
physically it seems possible to me however im not sure if the PLC battery chip lipw005 will allow it charge up to 12 amps i thought it might limit it to 3 amps.
could u please tell us ur opinion with upgrading to a bigger capacity batteries if you are planning to use your own charger to charge these i dont see why not provided you stay within specs.
and it is the truth. certified30 18650 cells are used for high powered flashlights, e-cigarettes and can be assembled into battery packs for electric bicycles, rc cars and so on.
For example the Tesla model S uses just over 7000 of these cells in it's battery.if you are looking to charge these cells at 12 amps you would need to put man of them in parallel.sinces these are around 1.5ah each, you would need at least 8 in parallel to charge at 12 amps. i would stay at a maximum of 1C charge rate on these.Cheers :) Joseph Alsheimer From what I know, there isn't a way to get the old defective batteries to work. There is a computer on the battery that will prevent it from working again. I think your best bet is to manually charge it with some generic lithium charger if you know what you are doing and use them that way.Dont do this at home and also dangerous to do this.i got one of the new ones u talked about.
